3D Printing Materials - Somos PerForm

Mohou.com has launched its latest 3D printing material, Somos PerFORM, a resin that enables rapid processing and stereoscopic light-curing molding with extremely high temperature resistance (200-260 degrees) to create strong, robust and precise parts with high feature resolution.

Somos® PerFORM resins

Product description

Somos® PerFORM produces strong, tough, high temperature resistant composite parts that are particularly suitable for mould and wind tunnel testing applications.

With Somos® PerFORM, the lowest viscosity of all composite three-dimensional light-curing molding resins, Somos® PerFORM allows for faster part making, easier post-process cleaning of manufactured parts, and excellent sidewall quality for unparalleled detail resolution.

It is particularly suitable for the manufacture of strong, tough parts with excellent resistance to high temperatures, including wind tunnel models for aerospace and automotive applications, as well as rapid tooling for injection moulding.

Mould applications.

Previously, general SLA printing of finished products, although it can also be used to make silicone moulds, but silicone flip moulds due to mould material problems, is not durable, and the accuracy will decline with the rise in the frequency of use, generally about 15-20 times is not available. Due to the nature of silicone moulds, the materials that can be used are limited. The high temperature resistance of the PerFORM material makes it possible to use the finished 3D print as a prototype for a wider range of moulds, not only for other moulds than silicone moulds, but even as a mould itself, to flip cast some low temperature materials.

Areas of application.

Higher heat deflection temperatures (HDT) of up to 268°C (514°F) (ASTM standard tests where the sample received an external load of 0.46 MPa and heat deflection temperatures of up to 268°C) make PerFORM particularly suitable for the manufacture of robust, strong parts with excellent resistance to high temperatures, including wind tunnel models for aerospace and automotive applications, as well as for injection molding Formula One cars are already using PerFORM for wind tunnel model testing, and Toyota Motorsport GmbH is also using the material to test new prototype parts for high-performance racing cars, giving them a competitive edge in design and testing. Furthermore, with the help of the material, TMG is now able to produce injection moulds and expand into new areas of business in the automotive industry.

In addition to aerospace and automotive applications, PerFORM materials are also set to make their mark in the household sector. Bathroom products, it is recommended to use PerFORM material, high temperature resistance can make it smooth hot water without pressure, in addition, the material plating characteristics are very good, you can personalize the bathroom products, get rid of the same old tedium.
Mohou.com has always been committed to providing customers with "full material, full process, full size" 3D printing solutions, and now with the launch of PerFORM material, we are updating and expanding our material library on the one hand, and relying on the super high temperature resistance of PerFORM material and its excellent detail resolution on the other. The PerFORM material is now available in a wide range of post-processing options to meet the needs of our customers.
